Description

this idea came to my mind over the last week.
Yesterday was the day to click the shutter.

What you see here are two H0 figures like those used for model trains. The rocks are pieces of tree bark.

scale 1:78

the underground/background is a high gloss PVC floor coating as used for high gloss stages.

only minor postprocessing, reflections are "as shot"

Wow, this picture - although it only consists of black, white, grey and orange colors - has such a great impact on me.
You could really tell a story with this photograph. The grandfather who shows the grandschild the world, leaving the known, getting into something new.
The symmetry and the reflection make it somehow surreal. But human beings ar not surreal nor abstract - they are concrete livings. This cntradicition makes it thrilling, the observer is desperately looking for something he could grab... But silhouettes and shadows are not concrete.

Technically, I can only tell you that you did a great job! The editing is superb, too, otherwise the effect would not have been as half as good.
One of the few pictures I can only give positive feedback, because I do NOT see anything I could comment negatively... one does not have to look for the negative sides always.^^

Regards from Germany,
Jonathan
